Finding beauty in the wine country
My studio is in the center of the largest premium grape-growing region in North America. Some of the grape fields that surround me are crushed into wines that have gone on to take the most coveted wine awards in America and Europe. But if you were to ask anyone who lives amongst these endless fields of Cabernets, Chardonnays, Zinfandels, Pinot Noirs why they live here they would tell you that it isn't the international fame of this region that causes a person to love this land. It is the perfect smell of the warm breeze that causes the grape leaves to wave in the afternoon sun under the bluest of skies. It is the peace and quiet you receive while sitting under an oak tree with your friends just noticing the beauty. It is this memory that will cause you to sigh a warm smile later when you are in your respected place of business, far away from the summer sun and green leaves of grapes.
