In Pursuit of the Snow Leopard, I Followed Her Across the River to Tibet Accept the imaginable Whether I was chasing after a love in the form of this woman, or I was just looking for me, there came a point in which I had to confront my own fears of inadequacy. Was I capable of a love this great, and it was great. I was once caught on the other side of a river created in a flash flood in Mexico. The power of that river swept everything away. A truck, clothes, coolers, food…all gone. What was left was life. To cross that river in my own heart required me to let go of all previous notions of who I thought I was and accept that I was much more than I could dare to imagine. On the other side is the home of the Dalai Lama. Tibet. The Tibetans believe that the only passion they allow themselves is compassion. I had developed compassion.
