The Fire Pot
There is a place that I visit in Mexico called Canyon de Guadalupe. It is an oasis located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas, as they fan into a long, hot, dry lakebed. To get there requires a journey of 50 miles over white sand and beautiful empty desert. And then you make a turn, and then another, until you come to this small outcropping of trees with water running over the dirt path. The sound of splashing against the tires, and the sight of trees with birds chirping stuns the sense to awareness that one has just crossed into another world. A world of water and life. This is what I call the world of transformation. When one exchanges moments of emptiness for moments of fullness. This painting is a record of the promise that life continues to transform our every longing, into gratitude for the laughter and the love that is all around us, all the time. All the time. Just open your eyes and see.
