In Pursuit of the Snow Leopard, I Rejoiced

Finding love

I had fallen in love with a woman. She moved with the grace of a cat. I had read that the American Indians felt strong connections with specific species of animals and that these connections enabled them to develop some of the qualities of that animal. For instance, to have a fondness for a wolf meant that you were learning how to develop family cooperation and loyalty. To have a cat for a friend, meant that you were elusive yet courageous. I loved the wolves, as she loved the cat. In my imagination I asked my angels, the wolves, to assist me in finding her spirit, as represented by the Leopard. In this first of the Puma paintings, my wolves have found her. The hall is pink because it is the color of love. The puma is purple because it is the color of the creator. My wolves are blue and white because they represent the ability to speak and purity, respectively. The clouds sit outside the door representing the world of infinite possibilities. I get to choose my world in this place.
