THE GODDESS SERIES
Archeologists have unearthed thousands of images of women, small, large, petite, round, passionately angry or warmly nurturing, dating back to pre-city states when our ancestors were hunters and gatherers, up to the last century. They have come to believe that all of these images reflect each community's beliefs in the specific characteristics that the EARTH holds for these communities. The earth, for most communities is a living being and the mother of all. She represents all that is beautiful, all that is desirable. It is my belief that the things or people we find so beautiful in our lives comes from an impulse from our hearts that was planted there by the spirit of the earth. It is with this in mind that I created the series of paintings honoring women's beauty. Ultimately this beauty honors the earth.
