His
paintings adorn the homes of literally hundreds of individuals,
who represent a wide spectrum of economic and cultural differences.
Yet, they all share one common interest in owning a Brummé,
it deeply touches their heart.
Steve
is a master storyteller. He frequently is invited to speak at
the Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club and high schools about his paintings
and adventures in Jujitsu, sky diving, rock climbing, and his
travels to Indonesia, Europe and Mexico.
Steve
and his paintings have been featured in many newsprint articles,
including the San Francisco Examiner, the San Francisco Chronicle,
The Press Democrat, The Sonoma Tribune, The Atlanta Chronicle,
and The San Francisco Business Times. He has been interviewed
on KFTX, Channel 50 Morning News, Santa Rosa, Fox Network, San
Francisco, and The Bay Sunday morning program with Barbara Rogers,
San Francisco. He frequently writes martial arts articles and
is published in the Kia Echo, The American Judo and Jujitsu Federation
magazine and the Tekami, The American Judo magazine.
He
is active in the community working with children and youth. Steve
was the founding director of the Courage of Love, a series of
art exhibits featuring the art of 86 children, which raised funds
for the VNA and Hospice Children's Bereavement Program. He also
founded the Love is Circle of Strength project to help struggling
single parents to get back on their feet. He is a mentor to many
children offering them free art lessons.
Even
though Steve's legs have been paralyzed since age 1 because of
polio, he has an athletic appetite for adventure. He was a member
of the WMCA Gymnastics Team in Ohio, performing on the high rings.
For over 7 years he has dedicated himself to the study of Jujitsu
and is in the final stages of acquiring his black belt. And presently
he is in training to rock climb El Capitan in Yosemite. He spends
many months a year traveling to exotic countries, learning languages
and manufacturing and importing art related products for his
company, Temples and Touchstones, Inc.
If
you were to engage Steve in a conversation you would be aware
of three things. His sense of adventure is contagious. His courage
is inspiring. And, his love of stories is absolute.
